Here at The Whisk & the Wand, you’ll meet two such women. One believes food is love made visible. The other knows magic often begins in the kitchen. Together, they anchor the heart of my culinary romance and cozy mystery worlds.

Meet Suzi Hart
Chef • Matchmaker • Owner of Sweet Hart Inn
Hi, I’m Suzi Hart, a longtime resident of Harbor Falls, a charming mountain town tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
I own and operate Sweet Hart Inn, a cozy bed-and-breakfast perched at the edge of town, where Falls Lake glimmers in one direction and Falls Mountain rises in the other. It’s the kind of place where the coffee is always on, the ovens are rarely cold, and guests often arrive carrying more than just a suitcase.
I’m a chef, cookbook author, and occasional caterer (usually with the help of my cousin, Sydney). Food is my love language. I believe meals bring people together—and sometimes gently nudge them toward the happy endings they didn’t see coming.

Meet Violet Forester
Kitchen Witch • Reluctant Sleuth • Keeper of Chelsea Court
Greetings, dear reader. I’m Violet Forester, and I run the Chelsea Court Bed & Breakfast, located on Chelsea Court—a Victorian neighborhood tucked into Old Louisville, Kentucky.
Fictional? Perhaps.
But if you’ve ever passed a grand old home that seemed to whisper secrets, you might wonder.
My mother, Dahlia, and I live in our Victorian home and run the B&B together. I handle the cooking and baking (and the magic), while Dahlia manages the inn. Most days, our biggest challenges involve quirky guests or neighborly squabbles.
Some of those neighbors are normal, and some are witches and part of our coven. Occasionally, pixies and trolls make themselves known in the gardens of Chelsea Court.
Then there are the murders.
When trouble turns deadly, my kitchen witch magic goes to work as I sleuth out answers—assisted by my familiar, Woodford, a one-hundred-thirty-pound Great Pyrenees, and my best friend (and very normal sidekick), Julienne Bourbon.
Over the coming months, I’ll be sharing recipes (or spells?), glimpses into life on Chelsea Court, and teasers leading up to my first cozy mystery, Cakes, Clues, & Coven.
